The paisley — called keri in Kashmiri — is the oldest motif in Valley craft. On this Kashmiri aari embroidered co-ord set, it covers the entire surface in rich all-over paisley embroidery in purple, gold, and violet on a warm champagne base. Dense. Layered. No two paisleys landing in exactly the same position. Part of our Kashmiri Co-Ord Sets collection.
All-Over Aari Paisley — The Embroidery on This Set
Aari (Kashida) uses a hooked needle to pull thread from beneath the fabric surface, building continuous chain-stitch forms. All-over embroidery is among the most time-intensive forms — the artisan works section by section, building paisleys outward from the centre, maintaining consistent density and spacing entirely by eye and hand. Purple, gold, and violet threads worked in sequence give each keri its layered depth.
