One chinar leaf takes a naqash about forty minutes. This plate has a border full of them.
A decorative wall plate in the Kashmiri tradition — flat, eight inches across, engraved rim to centre with the chinar leaf. Held to the light, the chisel strokes are visible as individual cuts. That is the difference between a piece made by a person and one made by a press.
