Copper has been used to store drinking water for four thousand years.
Ayurveda calls water stored overnight in copper tamra jal. The practice is ancient; what is new here is who made the vessel. This bottle is beaten and engraved by hand in Srinagar by Kashmiri Skilled Artisans, so the pattern running down its body is chisel work, not a printed wrap.

How long should water sit in a copper bottle?

Should I put lemon water or juice in it?
No. Acidic liquids react with bare copper. Use plain water only.
How do I clean the inside?
Swirl warm water with lemon juice and a spoon of salt, rinse thoroughly, and air dry with the cap off. Do this weekly.
Is it dishwasher safe?
No. Dishwasher detergent strips copper and leaves it dull and pitted. Hand wash only.
