A 12 inch round plate turned and carved from genuine Kashmiri walnut wood, with a hand worked border running the full circumference.
Product Overview
It works two ways: as a serving plate for dry fruits, nuts, sweets and dates, and as a display piece on a stand or hung flat on a wall. The carving is cut into the rim, leaving the centre clean and usable.
About Kashmiri Walnut Wood
Kashmir is the only region in India where walnut trees grow at the altitude required for dense, close-grained timber. The wood is naturally rich brown, takes fine detail without splitting, and darkens gracefully with age.
Craftsmanship
Worked from a single solid walnut block, not joined or laminated, which is why the grain runs continuously across the base. The rim border is cut by hand.
